1. Open the Zotero toolbar in the Word document
2. Click the Set Document Preferences button
3. Choose a citation style and click OK
4. You can change the citation style of your document at any time by returning to the Document Preferences and selecting a different format
5. To install additional citation styles, visit the Zotero Style Repository
1. Make sure Zotero for Firefox or Zotero Standalone are open
2. Place the cursor where you want to insert the citation. This can be in the text, a footnote, or endnote
3. Open the Zotero toolbar in the Word document
4. Click the Insert Citation button
5. The Quick Format Citation dialog will appear
6. In the Citation dialog, start typing the title, author, and/or year of an item in your Zotero library. Matching items will intstanttly appear below
7. Select an item by clicking on it or pressing enter when it is highlighted. The item will appear in the dialog box
8. Click the item again in the dialog box to add page numbers or other information to the citation and then press enter
9. Press enter again to insert the citation and close the Quick Format Citation dialog
10. To create a citation with multiple references, add them one after the other in the Quick Format Citation dialog. After selecting the first item, type the author, title, and/or year of the next one
1. Make sure Zotero for Firefox or Zotero Standalone are open
2. Place the cursor where you want to insert the bibliography
3. Open the Zotero toolbar in the Word document
4. Click the Insert Bibliography button
5. The bibliography is automatically filled with all items cited in the document

Changed in styles in your Zotero Preferences: Click on the Export tab and select the preferred output format
