Never pay for an article!!

When searching a database (i.e. there's a "find it" button)

  1. Click on the find it button icon. If we do not have access to the article, choose the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) option.
  2. The ILL form will be populated for you; just click 'Submit'.
  3. You will usually receive the article by email in a couple of business days.

Outside a database search (i.e. no "find it" button)

  1. Go to tripod.haverford.edu.
  2. Sign into your account; this is very important!
  3. Copy the title of the article into the Tripod search box and click to only search 'Articles'.
  4. On the left-hand side of the results screen, click 'Expand my results'.
  5. When the correct article title appears, click the link; under 'How to Get It', click 'Interlibrary Loan'.
  6. The ILL form will be populated for you; now just click 'Submit'.
  7. You will usually receive the article by email in a couple of business days.

In the absence of a Find it button or an interlibrary loan link, you can fill out and submit the interlibrary loan form manually.

But wait...that's not all! If you're really in a bind, you can also:

  • Try emailing the author and asking for a copy of the article.
  • Try googling the title to see if there is a link to the full text.

Elsevier and Wiley publications

We have some full text Elsevier (found in Science Direct) and Wiley articles, but they may look a little different when you click the "Find It" button.
