- June 24 – Evangelist Billy Graham visits Graterford.
1995
- A major raid occurs at Graterford.
- Temple University professor Lori Pompa and her undergraduate students visit SCI Dallas. During a panel discussion with incarcerated men, one panelist suggests turning the dialogue into a full semester course. This idea sparks what becomes the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program.
1997
- Temple University professors M. Kay Harris and Lori Pompa officially launch the Inside-Out program at Graterford.
