Provides an overview of themes and topics in ancient Greek law. Many of the 22 essays, written by experts, deal with procedural law in classical Athens, but attention is also paid to legal practice in the archaic and Hellenistic eras as well as Crete and Egypt. The intersection of law with religion, philosophy, political theory, rhetoric, and drama is also included.
