COML 200: Introduction to Comparative Literature (HC)

Use TRIPOD to find books and other material owned by the Tri-College libraries.

Use WorldCat to find books not held by the Tri-College libraries.

(Keep in mind that books are good for finding overviews of broad topics, in-depth analysis of specific topics, and collections of essays.  They tend to be less useful for studies of very recent literature or obscure authors—use the MLA International Bibliography for the latter.)

In order to find books in either catalog, conduct either a relevant:

Keyword Search, e.g.:

• calvino AND ("winter's night" OR "notte d'inverno") [Tripod]

• travel AND translat* AND (literature OR fiction OR poetry) [Tripod – Title keyword]

• "amitav ghosh" [Tripod – Title keyword, not including books by Ghosh]

• "amitav ghosh" [Tripod – Title keyword]]
