Standards

According to ISO, a standard is "a document that provides requirements, specifications, guidelines or characteristics that can be used consistently to ensure that materials, products, processes and services are fit for their purpose. Starting with basic design principles relating to public safety, standards establish guidelines and requirements for equipment design, installation, operation, inspection, and maintenance. With the exception of an older set of ASTM standards, which includes a few, newer volumes, the library does not purchase standards for its collection. InterLibrary Loan will try to get standards when requested, but often they are inaccessible and too costly.
