Library Support for Swarthmore FLI Students

A selection of library resources for Swarthmore First Generation/Low Income students.

Games and Puzzles

Take a study break and play a game. McCabe has a chess table, plus board games that you can take anywhere in the library to play. Cornell has even more games, and you can take them home for up to a week.

Musical Instruments

Underhill is home to instruments that are available for loan, including African drums, guitars, and a ukulele. With loan periods of a whole semester, you'll have enough time to get really pretty good.

(For inspiration, check out this album of African drumming, part of the Smithsonian Folkways recording project. Log into Tripod for full access.)

Get Back to Nature

The libraries have resources to help you explore and enjoy nearby wilderness. You can borrow field guides and high-powered binoculars from Cornell, and take them with you to explore Crum Woods and beyond. Learn more from our Explore the Outdoors LibGuide.
