Finding Books

Unlike most Science disciplines, Math researchers rely heavily on information published in BOOKS in addition to journals. The QA section houses all of our Math books and is by far the largest section in Cornell Library. Interdisciplinary math books will be found under other call numbers in all of the TriCo libraries.

Historical Online Book Collections

Cornell University Library Historical Math Monographs
A collection of 456 selected monographs with expired copyrights chosen from the mathematics field. These were monographs that were brittle and decaying and in need of rescue.
The Jahrbuch Project
The Electronic Research Archive for Mathematics (ERAM) consists of two parts:
• A literature database based on the Jahrbuch uber die Fortschritte der Mathematik (1868-1942)
• An archive of digitised mathematical publications at the Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Göttingen
Google Books
Sometimes you will be able to find complete texts of math books, especially if they are old (pre-copyright). Printing is usually prohibited, but you can read on the screen if necessary (and if you decide you want the book in print, you can always borrow it via InterLibrary Loan).
