Using ProQuest Ebooks

You can use ProQuest's online reader to read, search, and download or print sections from ebooks. (Usually, you can print about 40-60 pages, but individual publishers can further restrict downloading and printing.)

PC/Mac (Full Book Download)

  • Open your book in ProQuest Ebooks. Select Full Download. 
     

  • ​Follow prompts to install Adobe Digital Editions software.

    • Open Adobe Digital Editions, then Authorize Your Computer.

      • Optionally, create an Adobe ID and then authorize.

      • With an Adobe ID, you can access library ebooks from any computer.

  • Go back into ProQuest Ebooks to download your book.
    ​

    • Choose a loan period: 1, 7, 14, or 21 days

    • Download your book file. (file will have extension .acsm)

    • Locate the file in your Downloads. It should open using Adobe Digital Editions.

iOS/Android (Full Book Download)

  • Open your book in ProQuest Ebooks. Select Full Download. 
     

  • ​When prompted, install BlueFire Reader on your device.

    • Authorize BlueFire Reader using your Adobe ID.

    • If needed, create a free Adobe ID.

  • Go back into ProQuest Ebooks to download your book.
     

    • ​Choose a loan period: 1-21

    • Select EPUB (resizeable) or PDF (formatted like print)

    • Download and open your ebook file

      • From your computer: Save file and send to device
        • Open with BlueFire Reader
      • From your device: Open file with BlueFire Reader
