ENGL 301: Sex and Gender in the Middle Ages (HC)

In this journal article from GLQ 1, 4 (1995): 459-465 authors David Lorenzo Boyd and Ruth Mazo Karras include the edition and English translation (pages 462-463) of a case from the Pleas and Memoranda Rolls concerning Jon Rykener "calling himself Eleanor." In December 1394 he was found dressed in women's clothing, having sex with another man on a street in London.
