Books and other items in the library catalog (Tripod) are categorized by their subject matter. You can find a book's subject headings within its library catalog record:

Clicking on these subject terms will run a search for other items in that category. You may also use the Advanced Search feature in Tripod to search for them, and can specify your search by, for example, combining different subject terms together. For example:

Relevant subject headings include (but are not limited to):

  • Paul, the Apostle, Saint
  • Bible Epistles of Paul
    • Bible Epistles of Paul -- Criticism, interpretation, etc
  • Bible Corinthians
  • Bible Ephesians
  • Bible Philippians
  • Church history -- Primitive and early church
  • Christian sociology -- History -- Early church, ca. 30-600
  • God (Christianity) -- History of doctrines -- Early church
  • Greek literature -- Relation to the New Testament
  • Apostles
  • Christian literature, early
  • Classical letters

Finding and borrowing items from beyond the Trico

Request items not available through Tripod/the Trico using EZ Borrow and Interlibrary Loan.

EZ Borrow sources items from libraries relatively close by. These items usually arrive within 3 to 5 days.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is for borrowing items from libraries further away. While materials shipped to campus may arrive in only a few days, generally this is method is slower than EZ Borrow.

For journal articles you cannot access through Tripod/the Trico's resources, request through Interlibrary Loan Article Delivery. These will usually be delivered electronically, and most often within one or a few days.
