This section highlights available books from our collection that are specific to women’s rights in the United States and beyond, covering the history of suffrage here and abroad, narratives of first through fourth wave feminism, and the problematic impact these oft-marginalizing movements had and continue to have on non-white women. In making these selections, we strive to reflect critical texts and treatments surrounding these issues in a broader context that seeks to present the different experiences of these historically marginalized groups and individuals. We hope patrons will interact with these selections in the manner intended: to foster critical engagement with and discussion around our collection as its materials are juxtaposed with both facts and apocrypha associated with the struggle for women’s rights.
