Popular Reading Room

Located on McCabe's first floor, this is the spot to be if you want to read the latest popular fiction and nonfiction! We also have a selection of books on CD.

Someone already checked out what you want to read? Place yourself on the waiting list! Search for the title in Tripod, sign into your account, and click "request" to place a hold on the book.

Comics & Graphic Novels

Alumnus Richard Lamb '88 donated over 10,000 comics to McCabe to encourage reading for the sake of pleasure (read the Alumni Bulletin's amazing comic feature on the donation!). Check out our guide to the collection or browse the collection in the lounge on the second floor of McCabe.

We also have many comics and graphic novels in the stacks on the third floor of McCabe (PN67XX) --check out our recommendations:,204,203,200_.jpg,320_.jpg

News & Magazines

McCabe carries many popular magazines and newspapers in print, such as The Philadelphia Inquirer, Daily Times, USA Today, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Entertainment Weekly, Main Line Today, National Geographic, Rolling Stone, Sports Illustrated.

Pick these (and more!) up in the Popular Reading Room or the second floor lounge in McCabe.
