Women & Performance"A Journal of Femnist Theory is a bi-annual publication produced independently by a feminist collective composed of students, alumni, and colleagues at the Department of Performance Studies. Established in 1983, it is the first journal devoted to a feminist investigation of performance. We provide a forum for practical, analytical and theoretical investigations of gender politics in diverse performance contexts. Contributions include essays, scripts, interviews, documentation, reviews, resource listings, and articles from interdisciplinary feminist perspectives. We encourage dialogue between varied fields of performance scholarship (ethnography, dance and theatre history & criticism, performance studies, cinema studies, cultural studies), and explore emerging feminist critiques of race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, technology, and nation. Students work in various phases of production, including writing, copy editing, proofreading, advertising, circulation, and distribution." - publisher's website
