Q. Are there prerequisites to apply?
A. No. Everyone is welcome to apply, including graduating seniors. We would love to have a group with many perspectives represented!
Q. Is this a paid workshop?
A. Yes, with free housing on the Haverford Campus.
Q. Is this a full-time workshop?
A. Yes. You'll be staying together as a cohort and everyone is expected to participate in all activities. The schedule will generally run 9-5 Monday through Thursday with an earlier dismissal on Friday, but there may be some changes in hours during the week. Participants will need to arrive at Haverford on Sunday. For schedules from past years, see the CiLIS website.

The purpose of the Careers in Library and Information Science (CiLIS) Program is to introduce students to the field of library and information science, and to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion by increasing opportunities for underrepresented groups in the profession. This is a full-time workshop open to any student (including graduating seniors). You’ll participate in seminars, discussions, and field trips focused on social justice issues in librarianship and career options in the libraries and information field.
