  • The Bryn Mawr subscription provides access to all news content, but not extras like some games or the cooking app.
  • You can read the Times through a browser using the Bryn Mawr SSO sign-in method.
  • Use a login and password in order to use the mobile app.
  • The print New York Times is available on the first floor of Canaday library.

Reading on a browser

Activate your New York Times account through Bryn Mawr (read through a browser):

  • Visit nytimes.com.
  • Click Login at the top right of the page, and at the bottom of the list of options, choose "Continue with work or school single sign-on>"
  • Log in using your BMC email and password; you may be prompted to authenticate with Duo.
  • You should then have access to News, Audio, and Newsletters (but not extras like Games and Cooking). App coming someday. (See below)
  • Problems? email library@brynmawr.edu

Reading on the app

Create a login and password for reading the New York Times account on an app:

  • Go to https://www.nytimes.com/activate-access/edu-access
  • Search for Bryn Mawr College in the pull-down list
  • Follow instructions based on being on or off campus. Any email address will do: it doesn’t have to be a BMC address (but if there is an existing NYT account under that email address, there may be hiccups and it will probably be easiest to register from a laptop rather than a phone.
  • If there is a paid subscription under that email address it will need to be canceled before registering for the BMC free account)
