The major index to Religious Studies. You can use to search for topics, people, or you can search by articles discussing a particular scripture verse. Note the following sample search phrases to use when searching for people: "Isaac the patriarch"; "Adam Biblical Character" ; "Saint Paul".
There are a variety of ways to do a search to find articles that discuss a particular scriptural passage. One way is to select the third tab on the toolbar "Scriptures" After doing this you will be presented with a list of Biblical books. Click 'expand' next to the book you are researching. This will present you with a list of chapters from that book. You may wish to click 'expand' again to get a list of verses within that chapter.

Use the "Index of Principal Scriptural Texts" which is located at the end of EACH volume to find articles on your passage. Often the journal name in a citation is abbreviated. If you do not recognize the journal name, turn to the beginning of the first issue of the volume you are using and check the "List of Journals" where the full titles of journals are listed.
