Searching The Prokaryotes Online

How to Search The Prokaryotes:

• Connect to The Prokaryotes from the Biology 116 course guide or Tripod.

• You should get 7 hits, representing the 7 volumes of this resources (but for some stupid reason, they aren't in numerical order).

 • Be sure to de-select "Include Preview-Only Content" (that means you won't get citations that won't give you full-text).

 • Type your search term(s) in to the search box in the blue strip.

 • Results sort be RELEVANCE (sort of) – be sure to review ALL results, as sometimes the best chapters show up at end of list...

To Import Prokaryote Citations into Endnote:

  • Run search
  • Select reference
  • Select Cite Entry  (right side of page)
  • Choose either RIS or ENW file type to download
  • Go to MyEndnoteWeb > Collect > Import
  • Select file to import and either Refman RIS or Endnote as the import option (based on file type selected above)
  • If you would like to store a PDF of the article, you will need to download it to your desk, then UPLOAD it to Endnote by clicking on the PAPERCLIP icon. Select the file, and upload. The paperclip icon will turn from RED to BLUE, indicating the citation has a PDF attached.
