The Sporting News
The Sporting News was established by St. Louis sportswriter Alfred Spink on March 17, 1886, as a general sports and theatrical publication with an emphasis on professional baseball. By 1910, TSN was a nationally circulated publication concentrating exclusively on baseball. In 1942, The Sporting News introduced coverage of football, basketball, and hockey in season. Since the 1960s, TSN has been an all- sports publication having expanded to cover golf, tennis, horse racing, auto racing, boxing, the Olympics, and other sports year round. Our subscription covers 1989-present.
