Swarthmore Special Collections - Digital Collections

These digital collections or corpuses are more comprehensive than the exhibits above and are better for searching.

Visit Swarthmore Special Collections in-person!

Students who are living in the dorms and have access to campus resources during Spring 2021 may make an appointment to use materials from any of Swarthmore's special collections. Access is provided in the Friends Historical Library reading room (immediately to your left when you enter McCabe Library) and can be scheduled between 8:30am and 4:30pm Monday through Friday, pending staff availability. Only one researcher is permitted in the reading room at a time.

Before your visit, peruse the Archives & Manuscripts catalog below and identify materials you would like to see during your visit. Make sure the materials are held at Swarthmore (not Haverford or Bryn Mawr). Note the call number of the collection and which boxes (if applicable) you are interested in seeing.

For help scheduling an appointment or locating materials of interest, contact Celia (ccauste1@swarthmore.edu) or the Curator of the Friends Historical Library (friends@swarthmore.edu), Peace Collection (peacecollection@swarthmore.edu), or College Archives (archives@swarthmore.edu)
