Using Social Media Without Getting in Trouble

Keeping your posts private is no guarantee that they won't make their way into the larger online world

Basic list of things not to post:

  • Abusive & Profane content
  • Illegal content
  • “Adult” content
  • Offensive content (racist, sexist and otherwise discriminatory) –
  • Negative views of job, employer, boss, professor.
  • Drug content
  • Threats
  • Poor grammar and spelling

  • If you cannot imagine telling someone in person the information you're thinking about posting online, then DO NOT post it!!!
