Databases (subscribed; available only to alumnae / alumni)

Alums have access to these paid databases through the Alumnae Association website. Database access is provided by Bryn Mawr Library & Information Technology Services (LITS). Please note that alumnae/i only have off-campus access to the databases listed below. Alumnae/i can come to campus and use the libraries, and while on campus will have access to almost all BMC electronic resources.

JSTOR
Full access to JSTOR journals and books in all fields to which Bryn Mawr subscribes (from the first issue to a few years ago).

Mango Languages
Self-paced online language courses (currently over 70 available).
Project Muse
Project Muse provides full-text permanent access to hundreds of journals in the humanities and social sciences.
Sage Journals
Hundreds of peer-reviewed journals in the humanities, social sciences, science, technology, engineering, and medicine.

Library borrowing

Alumnae/i of both undergraduate and graduate programs can borrow books from the Bryn Mawr libraries for 4 weeks at a time with up to 2 renewals. Alumnae/i borrowing does not include EZ-Borrow or interlibrary loan.

Find OA resources through Tripod
Use the Trico Library Catalogue to find Open Access books and journals. Once you've done a search, select "Open Access" on the left, under "Availability."
Google Scholar
Use Google Scholar for any subject. Articles you find through Google Scholar may be restricted, but Google will often point you to a free open access version of an article.
ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center)
Index providing citations and full-text articles on education from journals and non-journal sources (government agencies, policy organizations, non-profits, international organizations, user submissions, etc.). Provided by the US Dept. of Education.
PubMed
Citations and full-text content on medical and life sciences literature. Provided by the National Library of Medicine.
Hathitrust
Search the full text of millions of digitized library books. Alumnae and alumni may download single pages from books in the public domain (out of copyright), but not the entire book.
Internet Archive
Free books, movies, software, music, websites, TV.
Europeana
Books, art, films, music from European libraries, museums, and archives; links to digitized publications.
American FactFinder
Provided by the US Census Bureau, American FactFinder provides access to data about the United States, Puerto Rico and the Island Areas. The data in American FactFinder come from several censuses and surveys.
Open Library
A project of the Internet Archive: a free digital lending library.
Child Welfare Information Gateway
Publications that improve child welfare practice (including journal articles, websites, and online learning tools). Provided by the US Dept. of Health and Human Services.
