Video Tutorials: Home

This guide contains video tutorials from vendors that librarians can use, either through links or by embedding into a Libguide.

This guide contains video and Flash tutorials from ProQuest, EBSCO, Web of Science, Project Muse, LexisNexis, and Pubmed that librarians can use, whether through linking others to parts of the guide or by embedding parts of this guide into other research guides.

Topics generally covered for each vendor are:

  • advanced search
  • limiting and narrowing search results
  • using a thesaurus (to find search terms and/or synonyms)
  • creating a marked list

Along with each video is also information about its length, topic, upload date, reuse permissions, the availability of transcripts or captioning, and whether the video is particularly outstanding in terms of production or interest.

Some resources are also available for JSTOR, WorldCat, and HeinOnline; however, these are not as comprehensive as those for the other platforms. These can be found under the "Other Platforms" tab.
