Navigating the Libraries: a guide for first-year students at Swarthmore

How to find articles: using Tripod effectively

To find articles, use Tripod, the library catalog for the TriCo Libraries.

  1. Click the Articles tab above the search field. Search by journal title, author, or subject.
TIP: If you are unable to find an article by its title, try searching by journal title under the Books & More tab instead—sometimes journals aren't searchable by individual article.

  2. Once you've found an article, click the find it buttonbutton. Articles may be available through online journal subscriptions or in print in the library, but...

  3. If Swarthmore doesn't have access to the journal, you can request an article using Article Delivery Request. This may take up to a couple weeks, but, in most cases, we'll be able to locate the article that you're interested in.
TIP: You can access this request form via the main Tripod page's side menu: click on Borrowing Beyond Trico.
