Finding Psychological Tests & Measures at Swarthmore: Finding tests in databases

PsycTESTS [available ONLY at Bryn Mawr]

  • Search in All Fields or Keywords if you are generally looking for tests on a topic
  • Search in Test Name if you know the name of a test you are looking for
  • The search limits allow you to restrict your results by test availability, administration method, population, etc.
  • There will be a PDF link if the full-text of the instrument is available
  • Use the Find It button to search for the full-text of any associated development and review articles

To narrow your search to articles containing tests and measurement instruments on, for instance, anxiety:

  • Find anxiety in AB Abstract
  • And test* or measure* or assessment or survey or questionnaire in AB Abstract
  • And appended in AB Abstract
  • Alternatively, there is a Tests & Measures field in the search limits where you can look up articles that are about or have employed particular tests

Connecting to HAPI [available ONLY at Bryn Mawr]

  • Enter your test name or keywords in the search box. 
  • Click the checkbox to limit to "Primary Sources.
  • Click Display to see the list of results, which are sorted by score (relevance).
  • Click Complete Reference to find out more about the test and the article in which it's published ("Source" field).
  • Click the Find It button to access the article that contains the test.

  • Click the Search the Test Link database link. 
  • Do a Subject Search or a Title Search, depending on whether or not you are looking for a known test.
  • Read the citation and the Materials Notes to see if the test is reprinted.
  • Look up the journal in Tripod to see if we have have the right year and volume.
  • Make an ArticleDelivery request if we do not have print or electronic access.
