Is This Educational "Fair Use"?
Copyright law provides for freer use of copyrighted material in educational contexts under a "fair use" clause. However, in words of the U.S. Copyright Office, "the distinction between what is fair use and what is infringement in a particular case will not always be clear or easily defined." Below are some guidelines for determining how "fair use" applies.

"All users of IT resources must ... be [a] good citizen[s]; you must comply with local, state and federal laws, observe copyrights, licenses, contracts, and College policies."
"Prohibited practices include, but are not limited to ... downloading, possessing, or sharing copyrighted materials in violation of US copyright law."
