EALC 200: Approaches to the Study of East Asian Cultures (HC/BMC) - Fall 2023

Provides syllabi from ASIANetwork member institutions, including several introductory syllabi for Asian studies more generally, East Asian in particular, or Chinese studies, history, Buddhist literary studies, etc.

To find articles on teaching and course design in East Asian studies areas, use the filters on the right side of this linked page (article search) to limit to teaching areas, for example, "Teaching Modern Asian History."

Collects a large array of syllabi for courses in religion/religious studies. While the Religion and Regions > Religion in Asia section will have most relevant resources, the Religion and Other Disciplines > Religion, Arts, and Literature areas have some related syllabi which focus for example on religious art/expression in (East) Asian contexts.

Academia.edu is an academic networking site which allows its users to upload a variety of documents related to the academic profession. Many professors/instructors share their course syllabi here. To locate syllabi, try searching for strings such as introduction to East Asian studies, East Asian studies syllabus, Buddhist art syllabus, and the like. To view or download, you will need to sign up for a free account.

(Note: this site also houses research articles and other content, but be cautious if looking for scholarly materials here, as what you find often has not undergone any form of review or editing and may be drafts, unpublished versions of papers, etc.)
