Off-Campus Access to Library Resources (Bryn Mawr)

Access library subscription resources you find outside the library website

You can "proxy" a subscription resource you find online without having to navigate through the Bryn Mawr library website.

It's easy to add a "bookmarklet" to your browser that will automatically add the proxy information to a URL. This means you don't have to go through Tripod to locate the journal or article; if Bryn Mawr subscribes, you can get access right away.

Drag this link to your bookmark bar in your browser. (Click on the link below and drag the link up to the bar right below the URL address bar.)*

Access via BMC Library

Then when you come across an article or e-book online and know you should have access through Bryn Mawr (like a JSTOR article) or want to see if you can get access directly, just click on the link in your bookmark bar. It will add in the necessary proxy information to the URL, prompt you to log in to your Bryn Mawr account, and if Bryn Mawr subscribes, you'll have access.**

*This won't work on a mobile device like a phone.

**We purchase subscriptions to content from many sources. If proxying a link you find online doesn't work, it doesn't mean you don't have access to the resource. Go to Tripod and search for the book or journal title to see if you can get to the content a different way. And if we don't have it, use Interlibrary Loan to request a copy.
