Standards for collections using a modified Dublin Core metadata schema. This document attempts to standardize cataloging across the Tri-Colleges for systems that use Dublin Core, including CONTENTdm (Triptych).

The Linked Data Service provides access to commonly found standards and vocabularies promulgated by the Library of Congress. BMC uses LC Subject Names Headings (LCSH), the LC Name Authority file, and Thesaurus for Graphic Materials (TGM). Other resources for MARC cataloging can also be found here.

he Getty vocabularies includes the Art & Architecture Thesaurus (AAT), The Getty Thesaurus of Geographic names (TGN), the Union List of Artist Names (ULAN) and the Cultural Objects Name Authoris (CONA). At BMC, these are mostly used when cataloging fine art and artifacts. ULAN is used as a secondary name authority when a name does not appear in the LC Name Authority.
