Borrowing Beyond The TriColleges (Summer 2020)

Who can make requests?

Actively enrolled students, faculty (including emeriti) and staff can make requests.  You will be asked for Swarthmore network credentials when you first set up your borrowing account.

Can we get materials from outside the TriColleges during COVID-19?

If you request journal articles and book chapters that can be delivered electronically, we will try to get them for you.

Because many library buildings are closed, it is not likely that we can get you printed materials.  This will change as libraries begin to open, librarians return to their buildings, and Interlibrary Loan Departments begin operating again.  For now, books requests may go through our suggest a purchase form.

What can be requested?

Book Chapters

Journal and Newspaper Articles (You'll know something is a journal article if the description includes something like "Spring 2019, Volume 14, issue 2, p.117-138".)

How much can be requested?

There is no limit to the number of items you may request but since it may not be possible to process multiple requests in the same day, please prioritize them in order of need.

How will I receive the materials?

Most electronic materials will be delivered as PDFs.  You will receive an email with access information.
