Welcome

Welcome to the Haverford College Library.  We look forward to helping you and your students get the most out of all the learning experiences this summer.  Please take full advantage of our resources and services to enhance your teaching and to give students opportunities to pursue their interests.

Tell your subject librarian what materials you need:
  • Online guides to resources for a specific class or for a particular project
  • Print encyclopedias and dictionaries for students to consult during class
  • Book displays for students to browse
  • Rare books and manuscripts to make historical comparisons
Help is available:
  • Email, phone or meet with your subject librarian as needed
  • Librarians can work with classes on projects
  • Librarians can give classes brief orientations to the catalog and collections
  • Students can meet with librarians

Your Borrowing Privileges
Your library card will allow you to log into computers,
borrow books, films, and other materials in Haverford libraries,
and access ebooks.

The Tripod Catalog includes the collections at Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore Colleges.

Look for materials that begin with the location H for Haverford.

If you find something that you need that is at Bryn Mawr or Swarthmore, please talk to your subject librarian.

Research Guides

Librarians put together resources for research to support the different subject areas in the curriculum.  See the Research Guides page for an outline of coverage and links.

The initial listing in each area is the guide to resources for the entire subject.  Subsequent listings are course-specific guides used this past academic year. Some of them may be relevant to your classes like the guide for the Philosophy senior seminar course

Because Haverford is in a cooperative relationship with Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore Colleges, the research and course guides include digital and print sources that are available only on the other two campuses.
